Head of Alliance Quality
Role Summary:
A leading global organisation is seeking a Head of Alliance Quality, an experienced quality professional with a strong background in manufacturing, compliance, and contract management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and enhance external supply operations, ensuring alignment with global Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
As a key leader, you will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites and external supply partners. Key Responsibilities:
External Supply & Quality Oversight
Oversee quality operations across multiple Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), ensuring compliance with GMP and GDP regulations.
Support and empower managers to engage with CMOs, ensuring effective quality management across a large and complex portfolio.
Lead participation in CMO forums and global quality meetings to drive best practices and continuous improvement.
Manufacturing & Product Expertise
Ensure expertise in solid dosage forms, with additional experience in liquids and sterile products being highly desirable.
Provide oversight across both API and finished product (FP) manufacturing, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
Maintain a 50/50 balance of experience between manufacturing site operations and corporate quality leadership.
Technical Agreements & Compliance
Guide and support teams in the review and implementation of technical agreements.
Work closely with specialists and quality teams to ensure agreements align with regulatory and business requirements.
Establish and empower quality teams, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance and risk management.
Audit & Inspection Management
Provide strategic oversight of customer audits, ensuring operational teams are well-prepared and aligned with industry standards.
Lead preparation for inspections, with a focus on back-room support, while front-room leadership experience is an advantage.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead a team of approximately 42 quality professionals across multiple locations.
Oversee three quality managers in Prague, one in Sofia, and one in India, each managing 6-7 direct reports.
Drive organizational restructuring efforts to transition from a location-based team structure to an expertise-based model.
Provide stakeholder and corporate function leadership, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience
8-10+ years of experience in quality and manufacturing within pharmaceuticals or related industries.
Experience working in a manufacturing site is a must-have.
3-5 years of people management experience, overseeing teams of 10-15 professionals.
3-5 years of leadership experience in corporate and stakeholder management roles.
Strong understanding of GMP and GDP compliance within external supply chains.
Expertise in contract and technical agreement management.
Ability to manage complex quality operations across multiple geographies.
