Supplier Quality Manager
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing | Full-time | On-site (Saarland, Germany)

Role Summary:


A global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier qualification and oversight activities within its Quality function. This critical role ensures that all third-party vendors—from raw material providers to essential service partners—comply with the highest standards of quality and regulatory expectations.

As the Supplier Quality Manager, you will drive supplier audits, manage compliance documentation, and oversee supplier performance monitoring. You will also have the opportunity to lead a small team of experienced professionals, contributing directly to the organisation’s commitment to product excellence and patient safety.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Saarland, Germany, offering direct involvement in strategic supplier quality management across global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Qualification & Audit Leadership

Oversee the qualification and ongoing monitoring of suppliers, ensuring alignment with GMP and regulatory requirements

Lead supplier audits, both remotely and on-site, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions

Evaluate and approve supplier documentation including quality agreements, audit reports, CAPAs, and change controls

Cross-functional Collaboration & Inspection Readiness

Partner closely with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing teams to ensure integrated supplier oversight

Contribute to regulatory inspection readiness and actively support site audits and external reviews

Develop and maintain robust supplier management procedures in compliance with internal and external standards

Risk Management & Team Leadership

Monitor supplier performance trends and escalate risks proactively to prevent disruption

Manage a small team, supporting professional development and ensuring high performance standards

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and compliance within the supplier quality function

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Background

Degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Pharmacy

Industry Experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience in pharmaceutical supplier qualification, supplier quality, or quality assurance roles

Strong working knowledge of GMP regulations (FDA/EU/ICH) and best practices in supplier management

Skills & Certifications

Auditor certification or demonstrable audit leadership experience is preferred

Proficiency in managing quality documentation and supplier-related regulatory deliverables

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multiple functions

Languages

Conversational proficiency in both German and English is required
